The U-Cut will be open weekends this year beginning on 30 November/01 December. The u-cut hours of operation have changed! This year we will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10-3:30.
Due to the popularity of the U-cut (which is great!) we are requesting families to carpool, if possible, as parking has been an issue. Also, if you are travelling with other families for a tree, please gather on the Mossman Road, by the snowman, until your entire group has arrived.
Kevin's U-Cut is located in West Northfield, Nova Scotia. We are approximately 10 minutes from Bridgewater and about 1 hour from Halifax. We grow traditional balsam fir Christmas trees here on our mixed family farm. Our Christmas trees, as with our other farm products, are grown without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Visitors can choose a tree (we have several thousand to choose from) cut and bring it to the road then go to the camp for hot chocolate and warm up by the fire. While you warm up by the fire, we will gather and bale your tree and place it by your vehicle - ready for the trip home. When you are ready to leave the camp a wagon will bring you back to your vehicle after a short ride thru the woodlot.
Prices for the U-Cut this year are as follows: Christmas trees less than 8 ft are $40. 8 ft and over are $50. The above prices include gathering and baling your tree, hot chocolate/hot apple cider and homemade sugar cookies by a bonfire and a wagon ride back to your vehicle.
We are easy to find - Directions to the U-Cut: Take Exit 12 on Highway 103, turn right (away from the town of Bridgewater) and proceed north on Trunk 10 toward New Germany. Go 6.5 km and turn right on Mossman Road (just past the Turkey Burger restaurant) in West Northfield. Follow the red arrows on the Mossman Road to the tree lot. The u-cut's civic address is 464 Mossman Station Road, West Northfield.
